Horseback riding in this region is just about as spectacular as it gets. The high deserts of southern Utah, red-rock canyons and high mountain forest are all within minutes when you stay in the Washington County area. We have several outfitters who can take you on horseback adventures, including short one-two hour rides in Zion National Park, full day rides in areas outside the park or multi-day rides into the mountains and wilderness of the wild and exciting region.
While riding horseback you´ll see and hear the sounds of nature in a way that is hard to experience any other way. Deer, Elk, rabbits, coyotes, roadrunners, and a bevy of birds and other wildlife are all found in southwestern Utah. For a minute you just might begin to feel like one of the old-west explorers seeing this unbelievable country for the first time.
The smell of the leather, a breeze across your face, wildflowers in bloom and hardly a sound but the clip-clop of your horse as you stroll the open meadows and across streams or ride beneath the shade of cottonwoods, aspen or ponderosa pine. The longer the ride ? the better it gets. So check the list below for an outfitter to help you plan your horseback riding experience in the Zion National Park / St. George, Utah region.
